From marshes and wetlands, freshwater lakes and rivers to high mountains, dense forests and palm trees the diversity of landscapes is perfect for an array of different species. This tour aims to see the highlights of Malawi from Safaris to hiking, the beautiful beaches of the lake for the fish eagles to the epic woodlands of Liwonde and onto South Luangwa. Take a tour through some of the warm hearts top spots combined with the excellent safari hot spot South Luangwa, well known for its prolific concentrations of leopard, lion and wild dog as well as excellent bird life. This morning you will be transferred to Zomba Forest Lodge, ideally located at the foot of Zomba Mountain. Spend the next two nights at a quaint and homely place with gorgeous gardens and views over the plateau. The food is tasty and the hosts friendly and warm. Explore the waterfalls or enjoy a less strenuous but beautiful hike through the forests and enjoy the endless species of birds around.
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Liwonde National Park to spend 3 nights on the Shire River exploring the conservation success that is Liwonde on land and on the river, from its thriving populations of black rhino and cheetah to the beautiful bird species. The perfect place to experience Malawi’s flourishing wildlife. Here you will spend 3 nights at Mvuu Camp.
After your morning activity and brunch you will be transferred to Lake Malawi. Enjoy 2 days of digital detox, situated on a gorgeous island in the middle of the lake and surrounded by turquoise waters at Mumbo Island. Snorkel the crystal-clear lake and experience breath-taking sunset views from Pod Rock, watch as the fish eagles dive down to catch the many fish below.
This morning you will be transferred by boat to shore to meet your guide where you will be transferred to Lilongwe. The perfect stop-over before the next adventure. Enjoy delicious meals and friendly hospitality. Relax by the pool or explore the grounds of the working dairy farm, this quiet and relaxing city oasis is the perfect place for a spot of birding, which is surprisingly good in the city.
Their morning after breakfast you will be transferred across the border to the famous valley of the leopards to South Luangwa in Zambia to stay at the gorgeous Kafunta River Lodge for the next 2 nights. Right on the banks of the Luangwa River the wildlife is numerous enjoy some excellent big cat sightings as well as huge herds of elephants, pods of hippo, plenty of birds and the famous Thornicroft giraffe.
After your morning activity and brunch you will be transferred south to the meeting point of South Luangwa’s three rivers at their bushcamp, Three Rivers Camp for the next 2 nights. Here you can enjoy more walking safaris as you explore the remote and wild bush. Each room has a romantic star bed you can use if you wish a comfortable sleep-out experience!
After your morning activity you will be transferred to the main lodge for your final night in the bush, taking your final game drives before your flight home.
Today after your morning activity and brunch you will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport to check in for the scheduled flight to Lusaka, here you will check in for your international flight home.
