On this tour, you will explore the beauty of Rwanda in terms of birdlife, nature, wildlife, adventure, and leisure.

Pick up after breakfast then transfer to Nyungwe National Park (8-9am) en-route do a historical minded exploration of Nyanza and Butare. Visit the King’s palace, the Ethnographic Museum which gives introduction to Rwanda’s kingdoms.
Proceed to Nyungwe forest.

Early breakfast at 4:30am then drive to the edge of the forest where chimpanzee trekking starts.
The day ends with one of the most tourism highlight of Nyungwe by enjoying canopy walk in the forest.

This day is dedicated to birdwatching, you will be with an experienced guide specialized in Birds. Nyungwe is home to over 305 species of birds. You will spot different birds including the rare ones; among the frequently sighted species are the Rwenzori Nightjar, White-tailed Crested Flycatcher, Kivu Ground Thrush, the Handsome Francolin, Dwarf Honeyguide, Great blue and Rwenzori Turaco, montane Double Collared Sun and the Red- Throated Alethe, to mention but a few.
Lunch followed by the transfer to Kibuye, the Rwanda’s most attractive lake ports, nestled in a series of interwoven and undulating hills and offering visitors spectacular views of the lake, its islands and the stunning surrounding countryside. It is considered one of Rwanda’s hidden treasures, with its lush green hills and peaceful breeze.

Breakfast as you enjoy the views of the Lake later transfer to the shores of the Lake Kivu to do a boat ride to visit the Napoleon and Amahoro Islands to see a number of colorful birds, clouds of big fruit bats, learn the history of the lake and the beautiful views of the Lake surroundings.
Later visit the Environment museum which is located at the lake shores, it has educational displays about energy sources and the environmental impact of different types of fuel sources in Rwanda. There is also an excellent rooftop garden with a collection of native plants, each with explanations of their use in traditional medicine.

Breakfast at the hotel followed by the drive to Musanze – Volcanoes destination to visit the twin lakes for birdwatching. These two scenic lakes are found between Musanze and Uganda border, they are fed by Uganda rivers. They are good for water birding, there is Rugezi swamp near which makes the equation complete. There are lots of birds you will likely encounter such as; hammer cops, cranes, lots of kingfishers and herons.

After breakfast, we transfer to the park, completing our park formalities, we embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas.
Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long-lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of Virunga is a magical experience.
Be back at the base in time for lunch and refreshment. Spend the afternoon at leisure or do a walk around the hotel led by your guide.

Breakfast at the hotel then spend the day at leisure or visit Buhanga ecopark is also a small green forest which has a rich history of Rwanda kingdoms. It is where all Rwandan kings were initiated.
Later head back to Kigali. On arrival visit local markets and art shops to buy souvenirs.
